Lost In Translation – Bob and Charlotte
Oh my gosh, have you seen Lost In Translation?! Bill Murray plays this aging movie star named Bob, and he forms this totally unexpected friendship with Scarlett Johansson’s character, Charlotte. But, get this, in the final scene, Bob goes in for the kiss and plants one right on Charlotte’s lips! It’s so adorable and unexpected. And then he, quite adorably, says something that we can’t even hear.
Can you believe it? That kiss between Bill Murray and Scarlett Johansson at the end of Lost In Translation was actually completely unscripted! When you see the genuine surprise on Scarlett’s face, it’s absolutely authentic. Bill just went with it at that moment. Director Sofia Coppola loved the result to the extent that she let that go in the final cut. I must say, I adore those spontaneous moments that unfold on screen. They truly contribute to the enchantment of the movie
